Upon proper completion of the application, your Authorize.net Payment Gateway account is approved automatically. However, in order to accept credit cards, you must have a merchant account, and approval for that account can be immediate or take from one to five business days or more depending on several factors, including industry, credit history and responsiveness.
 

If you have an existing merchant account, you can update your gateway with the parameters provided from your merchant provider and be ready to transact within minutes.

No, the Authorize.net payment gateway does not have a contract fee for early termination.

Following the promotion period, You will be automatically charged the cost of the Authorize.net payment gateway is: $25 per month. The billing for payment gateway services occurs on the first day of each month. Your Billing Statement tracks all Authorize.net service related billing events. To view your statement:

This ensures that billing for your account is performed successfully each month and prevents your payment gateway account from being sent to collections, or in the event of delinquency, closed. The default payment gateway billing method is a bank account. However, if you prefer to have your payment gateway service fees charged to a credit card account, you may configure credit card billing information for your account by logging into the Authorize.net Merchant Interface and clicking Billing Information in the main left side menu.

Visa’s small business payment management platform, Authorize.net, is waiving its monthly gateway fee to new customers for six months. Canada only, offer not available in Quebec or to any Quebec residents, and where prohibited. Terms and conditions apply.

Eligibility

This Offer is available for new customers signing up in Canada only (offer is not available in Quebec or to any Quebec residents, and where prohibited) (“You”). In order to be eligible for the Offer, You may not be an existing customer of Authorize.net LLC (“ANET”) or Cybersource Corporation (an ANET affiliate, “CYBS”), nor had an ANET account or CYBS account within the past 30 days. If You have taken an offer previously, You may be ineligible for this Offer. You may also be ineligible for this Offer if You previously had an account with ANET or CYBS that was terminated by ANET or CYBS. An ANET account created by anyone other than You, the merchant, is not eligible, including but not limited to any account created or intended to be managed by a third party that is not You. Offer may only be redeemed once per new customer.

Promotion period

The Offer is available beginning on August 16, 2023, at 12:00 am and ends on June 30, 2024, at 11:59:59 pm in all Canadian based time zones (“Offer Period”). ANET reserves the right to terminate or amend the Offer at any time and for any reason without notice. After such time of termination, ANET shall not be obligated to redeem any further Offer accounts.

Terms of the offer

ANET offers You access to use the Payment Gateway service (as defined in the Agreement) under the following terms (the “Offer”): ANET monthly gateway fees are waived for the first six months when Your account is active with ANET; Any other fees, including but not limited to those charged by the acquirer, processor, or other third parties are separate fees and are not included with the Offer. At Your request, ANET may assist You to find an acquirer for an additional fee as per the Agreement. Details regarding the Payment Gateway service plan can be found at: https://www.authorize.net/sign-up/pricing.html. If You wish to terminate Your Agreement You may do so in accordance with the terms of the Agreement. There are no cash equivalents or substitutes for this Offer. This Offer is subject to Your acceptance of and compliance with the Authorize.net Payment Gateway Merchant Service Agreement (the “Agreement”) and the Authorize.net Canada Promotion Terms and Conditions set forth herein.

Note: Upon termination of an Authorize.net Payment Gateway account, Authorize.net discontinues providing its services to the merchant. Authorize.net's services include providing transaction processing services as well as payment gateway account management via the Merchant Interface. As a result, merchants that have an inactive Authorize.Net account are prohibited from accessing their transaction history.

If you would like to access your transaction history after closing your account, you may do one of the following:

  • Reactivate your account. In some cases, accounts terminated by Authorize.net may not be eligible for account reactivation.
  • You may contact your Merchant Service Provider.
