Authorize.Net's browser-based Virtual Point of Sale (VPOS) or a point-of-sale (POS) cardswipe terminal or software program capable of Internet Protocol (IP) communication rather than a dial-up connection. A type of bank account that allows a business to accept retail credit card payments (the card is physically presented to the merchant). A DSL or cable high-speed Internet connection that is "always on". A secure Internet bridge between your POS software/ hardware and the credit card processing networks.
